Frequently asked questions.
If your question isn’t answered here, raise it on a call.
Is there a free trial?
Not a self-service trial. Setup is carried out for you, so an empty trial account would tell you very little. Instead we run a guided session on a deployment set up as a business like yours. Book a demo →
How long until I’m live?
The build itself is quick: your database, branding, rates and rules are configuration, not development. The date is set by how much existing data you want carried across, and by how long your payment gateway takes to approve your merchant account. You will be given a date on the call, with the reasoning behind it.
What happens to my existing data?
Your rates, rules, units, extras and documents are rebuilt in Booqello as part of setup. Forward bookings and guest records depend on what your current platform will export. Tell us which one you are on and you will get a straight answer before you commit to anything.
Do I need my own website?
Booqello works with the website you already have. One script line adds a live availability calendar to your existing pages, carrying your branding and reading from your own system — see how the widgets work. We do not sell a website builder. If you have no website at all, we will point you towards the most straightforward option.
Whose payment account do bookings go into?
Yours. Payments run through a merchant account in your name and settle straight to your bank. We never hold your funds, and nothing is ever added to your guest’s price. On Growth and Pro we take no percentage either — a £3,000 hire carries no platform fee. On vehicle hire, Starter bills 1% of hire revenue instead of a per-vehicle charge; campsites, glamping and holiday lets never pay a percentage on any plan.
What support do I get?
UK-based support on every plan, direct from the person who wrote the platform and runs a hire business on it. There is no first line to get past.
What if I want to leave?
There is a twelve-month minimum term followed by three months’ notice, and no exit fee. Your data remains yours throughout, and the terms commit us to giving it back to you in a usable format when you go.
Is my data safe?
Each business has its own isolated database, hosted in London, with access controls that restrict guest data by default. Card details never reach our servers; they go directly to the payment gateway. We are happy to discuss GDPR specifics and provide the documentation your own compliance requires.
Who can access my data?
Your business runs on its own separate database. Bookings, guests and documents are never pooled with another customer’s, and nothing is aggregated across customers. Access on our side is limited to what is required to operate and support your system, and your data is never sold, shared or used for any other purpose. The specifics are set out in the data processing agreement you receive at sign-up.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, on both sides. You can run the day from your phone, and guests book, pay and upload documents from theirs.
What is it built on, and will I pay for upgrades?
A modern, actively developed booking platform that we host, monitor and update for you. There are no version upgrades to purchase and no question of being left on an older release: every customer runs the current system.
